January 1, 2012 — The Marpole BIA is very pleased and excited to announce that through our formal partnership with Emily Carr University's Graduate Studies Department, we have received funding for the research and development of "The Marpole Project: Destination Marpole" public art program. This grant, from the MITACS Internship Program at the University of British Columbia, will fund the initial research and development stage of the Destination Marpole Project.

June 15, 2011 — Student volunteers from King David High School, were organized by Kerrisdale-Oakridge-Marpole Community Policing Centre's (KOMCPC) Anti-Graffiti Paint-Out Program. The students spent two hours painting over various forms of graffiti on commercial buildings, walls, fences and also on public property.

January 31, 2009 — In a nearly unanimous decision, Council voted to support park land at Eburne on November 20, 2003. Council also instructed all the parties involved to work with the community towards the creation of a public park amenity at Eburne.
