The Marpole BIA is delighted to announce that we are partnering with HeyYa carts for the launch of HeyYa Marpole this summer.
This free community shuttle service in and around Marpole’s Granville Street commercial district will take place every Saturday in July and August, starting on July 4th.

What?
HeyYa Marpole is a six-seater electric golf cart. It is fully insured with ICBC and is street legal. It will be operated by a mature and experienced driver as part of a free community shuttle service sponsored by the Marpole BIA.
Drivers of the HeyYa Marpole will welcome you aboard, and follow a route that highlights Marpole amenities, including; the business along Granville Street, Marpole Library, Marpole Neighbourhood House, Colbourne House, Historic Joy Kogawa House, St. Augustine Church, Marpole Midden, Metro Theatre and many of our parks and green spaces.
The HeyYa Marpole driver will share Marpole history, secret facts and fascinating details about our community. There may even be a ghost story or two!
Where?
The starting pick up and drop off point will be Marpole Safeway at West 70th Avenue and Granville Street, starting at 10 AM. The HeyYa Marpole cart will follow a set route (see map below) on a regular loop until 6:30 PM. The driver may opt to pick up and drop off people shopping or walking as they see fit.
All you need to do is flag the driver down if you see them, and if there’s room, HeyYa Marpole will be happy to pick you up.

When?
Every Saturday in July and August. HeyYa Marpole shuttle will operate from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Who?
Anyone can ask for a ride, subject to space, aboard the HeyYa Marpole free community shuttle. There is not cost or payment for this service.
Riders must wear seat belts and remain seated at all times. Riders must be respectful of the driver and not inhibit the safe operation of the Marpole HeyYa cart. Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated. The driver reserves the right to refuse rides.
HeyYa Marpole Drivers
We are delighted to introduce two HeyYa Marpole drivers for July and August. For July 4, 11, and 18th, your driver is Evelyn Barreno.
Let’s meet Evelyn!

“Hi everyone! My name is Evelyn, but you can call me Eve! I’m a psychologist and community support worker who loves connecting with people, and I’m so excited to spend these summer Saturdays with you. I believe some of the best memories are made through good conversations, shared laughter, and enjoying the journey as much as the destination. It’s a privilege to be part of your adventures this summer, and I hope to help make each outing fun, relaxing, safe, and full of smiles. I can’t wait to meet you all!”
For July 25th and the Saturdays in August, the HeyYa Marpole driver is Nathan Ong.
Let’s meet Nathan!

Hello everyone! My name is Nathan, born and raised here in Vancouver, BC. So, some fun facts about me, I’ve lived in Marpole my whole life, I speak English fluently and Hokkien (福建話). I attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School and grew up attending classes, camps, events and even volunteered at the Marpole community centre. I think it’s safe to say that I’m quite familiar with the area, I truly love being and living in Marpole. My passion and career background is automotive; I’ve been in the industry for over 10 years now. When I’m not busy working, I have a huge passion for health and wellness. I religiously work out every morning at F45 training, plus I also attend my other gym at club 16. I’m also an active volunteer and board member at the Kerrisdale Oakridge Marpole community policing centre. It’s such a great opportunity giving back to the community and being part of a great organization. I look forward to meeting everyone!
This project is sponsored by the Marpole BIA.
