Vancouver’s outdoor pools are making a bigger splash than ever

August 31, 2019 — The Vancouver Park Board is planning to build another full-size outdoor pool at South Vancouver’s Marpole Community Centre. The park board’s decision to build a new outdoor pool was not based on dollars and cents. Surveys show Vancouverites miss their outdoor pools. Opting to build an outdoor pool at Marpole is a case where citizen demand should trump cost.

Vancouver heritage school in Marpole gets no date yet with demolition crew

February 11, 2019 — A nearly century-old Vancouver school building will live to see 100 and more. David Lloyd George Elementary School in Marpole will remain open even after a replacement school has been built. An open house for the development of a new school is scheduled on February 12 at the school gym from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
